In this engaging and heartwarming fable of two friends, a fish and a tadpole, children also get an important lesson in learning to appreciate who you are and what you have. Sunny and lighthearted, always beautiful, Lionni`s colorful illustrations work hand in hand with his tale of two friends who grow up and find they are very different and must live in different worlds. My sons and I were especially taken with the whimsical images of Fish`s impressions of life on land, conjured from Frog`s descriptions. This must be one of his best; we highly recommend it.
