外国で暮らす人（主にイギリス？）を対象にして、日本食の基礎的なところから（お米のたき方など）レシピが載っている。黒ゴマなど外国で手に入れにくい食材については、代用出来る食材の提案がされている。しかし、、、たらこのスパゲッティーの「たらこ」や「しそ」や「みょうが」は代用の食材の提案がされていない。実際にイギリスで調理可能なレシピは半分といったところ？だが、写真は美しいし、外国人に見せると喜ばれるし、料理のレパートリーは増えるだろう。
