excess weight!

I bought the paperback out of habit; I always buy a copy of lonely planet and another guide book when I travel. The Lonely planet is to look up places off the beaten track, and the other guide is usually for the maps (crappy in lonely planet) and current information (for instance, travel ticket costs, museum opening hours, fees, etc. Lonely planet books don’t get updated very often and so the information is almost always old). The Spain book was huge and heavy, and not much useful information (or maybe I had very different tastes from the editor). There’s a lot of stuff in there that could’ve been left out, and there’s a lot of stuff that they forgot to include for instance, Spain is a country with many UNESCO world heritage sites, and there were many that weren’t even mentioned (especially the hard-to-reach ones). The contributing writers may have lived in Spain for long periods of time and may know the place, but you get the feeling that they’re not in touch with what a
