If you’re planning to spend money on this, DON’T.

If you’re aiming to purchase this book as a means of improving/solidifying your intermediate-advanced level Japanese, you’d be better off purchasing from the Kanzen Master series (完全マスター読解) instead. I have no particular qualms with the soumatome books, but they are what they are; that is, books for general revision and doing last minute cramming, rather than functional learning. I have found Kanzen Master to be better for 3 main reasons:-
a) the reading articles are far more interesting and engaging, and are often academic excerpts,
b) the whole book is in Japanese, forcing you to read and comprehend the instructions and explanations in Japanese as well (and for those of you who aren’t native English speakers, Kanzen master would serve you better anyway),
c) the material in Kanzen Master (at least in 読解２級) is harder than the material you will come across in the actual exam, and thus kanzen master will prepare you more than adequately enough for N2 reading, and to be
