Fanny is to be.

Fanny Price is of a different character from my favorite Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice. Fanny is sub-missive, obliging and amazingly consistent in her views and mannerism whereas Elizabeth is independent, sharp and dynamic. It takes time and many pages of reading to appreciate what Fanny really has got to offer; she is not the most pretty one in a crowd and her opinions are not expressed out loud. Yet, it becomes apparent that the true qualities are her strong sense of decorum, moral values and love for family and home.

This is a beautiful story of a young lady who has to bear early separation from her natal family, classism, harassment (from her second aunt!) and ill-judgment. Fanny endures all these without much hate, and grows into such a lively woman of principles.

I must admit; I was very disappointed in Mr. Crawford for giving up on Fanny. She could have corrected him!
