Hemingway’s unseemly injuries

About this famous book, a lot of qualified people have said what is worth listening to, but I would like to say what I have never seen mentioned by anybody, even though I don’t know if it is worth listening to. I think this book was created by the unseemly injuries Hemingway got when he took part in the First World War. That happened when he was delivering chocolate and cigarettes to the men at the front line, not in the actual fighting scene. I personally think that this is only an accident and has nothing to do with his courage or cowardice. But Hemingway did not think so. He thought it as the most disgraceful and shameful thing imaginable, perhaps because as a hero-conscious boy (in his high school days he was admired as a hero for both his athletic ability and his literary ability), he had dreamed of performing a heroic act in the war.
But I think that if he had actually performed a heroic deed in the war, ‘A farewell to Arms’ would probably never have been written, and
