A hundred or so short articles

The book is essentially a compilation of a hundred-odd short articles and excerpts from books intended for a general native-Japanese-speaking audience. Each passage is followed with multiple choice question(s) to check comprehension. I found it to be very applicable practice for the N1. After reading two or three passages a day for about a month, I felt very prepared for the reading section of the exam. My reading speed had increased a bit, and I understood the types of questions often used and how to spot common trick answer patterns: For example, N1 questions about summarizing a passage will often include one or two "almost right" choices, which nearly reflect the passage except for one minor incongruity. Thanks to my practice, I felt I was able to spot these misleading choices much more easily than before. Highly recommended for N1 contenders. Even outside of the realm of JLPT study, this book feels valuable merely as a source of guided reading material with comprehension questions
