Can`t Stand on it`s Own

There are better stories to read at Christmastime than THIS Madeleine. The illustrations are as engaging as ever, but like the little girls in the story who are sick in bed, the writing seemed a bit sluggish -- not up to the usual Madeleine tales. This doesn`t stand on its own: if you must have it, get it as part of the collection or with the activities, to get your money`s worth.
