Kindle version is really poor

I recently purchased a kindle and a main reason for the purchase was to avoid carrying multiple travel guidebooks around on extended trips. Unfortunately the kindle versions really are a very poor substitute for the paper versions. Of course they lack the beautiful pictures and colours of the paper guidesthis was expected, but is more of a loss than I expected. More importantly, are the problems of usability. The quality of the maps (usually one of the most useful parts of the guides for me), are absolutely terriblelow resolution and very poor contrast of the maps makes them very difficult to read on the small screen, and zooming in just reduces the maps to a blurred mess. Additionally, searching through the guide for specific things e.g. travel details to/from a city, is painfully slow. Indexes/hyper-links at the beginning of each chapter could be greatly improved. Given the price of the kindle version there is no excuse for the images not being optimised and I cannot
