この本では人間の成長をコミュニティへの新しい参入者ともともとそこに存在する人達とのやりとりにおいて行われていると述べている。つまり、一番最初はそのコミュニティの人や知識を入手するために、周辺的に参加し、信頼や知識、スキルを得ていくのである。ある意味、人材の教育だけではなく、学校の教育でも行かせるのではないのだろうかと、読んだあとに気づいたのである。
