Invictus/Hot Wax/Music Merchant45周年記念、Holland-Dozier-Holland関連の1969年から1977年までに発表されたシングル音源をコンプリートした14枚組です。商品説明には「ディスク枚数: 8」とありますが、14枚で間違いありません。
Holland-Dozier-Hollandに関しては説明はいらないでしょうから、ディスクの構成について一言。
HIP-O Selectから出ていたMOTOWNのコンプリートシングルシリーズは、シングルの収録曲が続けて収録されていましたが、このコンピレーションの編集方針は異なり、奇数番号のディスクにAサイド、偶数ディスクにBサイドという構成になっています。
奇数ディスクだけを続けて聞くと、HDHヒットシングル集になるのがポイントかと。もちろんサイドB曲にも駄曲なしなのは言うまでもありませんが。
同じシングルのサイドAB続けて聴きたいという方には不満が残る構成かもしれません。
